I have finished my ebook, How To Win At Petanque. This is the first book of its kind available and I know it will have a massive benefit for anyone lucky enough to own a copy.

It will be released soon in CD format and also in paperback. For now the book is only available as an ebook. To check out some of the content please go to http://www.how-to-win-at-petanque.com

Hi Kevin,

I'm curious after looking at your site: the book seems to have
no specific petanque content but be more about sports
psychology. I'm sure that is an important part of any game
and the book could just as easily apply to darts etc.

Are there any petanque tactics in there? I think there is a
good book to be written on the finer points of the game.
When to shoot, when to put one up, when to go for the coche
etc.

I have a reasonable grasp of the game but I always enjoy
playing with or against the good teams and observing those
extra little details and the choices they make.

Cheers,
Mark.

Any book that tries to improve the poor standard of play here in the UK deserves a fair trial. We can all be clever and say that to win you need to score 13 points before the other team but any help to get to that 13 should be welcomed. I have actually read the book and can recommend it.

Hi Mark,

the book is aimed at training the mind to play your best petanque. In my opinion and the opinion of thousands of sports coaches in the world and sports people it is the mind that determines the performance. If your mindset is incorrect your play will be poor.

For example if you step into the circle and say to yourself, "I hate long distance shots, I always miss them" then you will miss, pretty much guaranteed. And even if you do make the shot you will put it down to luck and say things like " I cannot believe I made that shot as I usually miss long range shots"

As far as tactics when to shoot, point etc, this is covered in the book but not in great depth. This is because there are no right or wronmg tactics in a game. Whether you choose to shoot or point comes down to your confidence in making the shot and your ability. In general if a shit comes off it is the correct tactic, if not thenm we live with the consequences.

I watch Foyot and Fazzino have a very heated discussion about a particlar point, should they shoot or point, they argued for about 15 minutes and get extremely animated. in the end they shot and yet the argument about the choice of tactic continued for the remainder of the game, even though they had won the end!

My first advice is to observe others tactics and try to apply the ones you like to your own game. It is in the doing that we learn.

My best advice is to buy the book and read it through. Take what you like and apply it to your game. If it is not for you then you can have a full refund, no questions asked, as I have a 90 day policy on this. I think that is fair enough don't you?

Regards

Kevin

I have had it suggested to me that only about 30-40% of the game is about throwing the big metal ball near the small wooden ball.

While I would imagine any game there would be some gamesmanship.

I must admit I gave up playing petanque competitively because of what I thought was sledging and poor behaviour.

I suppose this makes all the people who behave poorly better ranked players than me even if it may be a hollow victory.

I suppose this may be one way to win at petanque (or any other activity) is to scare the opposition away.

It seems as a person who just plays for fun and companionship that I am best to avoid any sort of organized competition.

Should the real issue be not the standard of play but the enjoyment of the participants?

Perhaps someone who purchases the book can do a review?

Being the author of this book I have taken into consideration most aspects of the game. I agree lots of people resort to sledging in order to win. Many others play not to lose rather than to win.

I believe that if you can learn to play with your mind first then the arm will follow. You are correct in saying that a small percentage of the game is actually the throw and this is why I have written the book to teach people how to use the many other resources they already have but do not necessarily use.

The book comes with a 30 day money back guarantee so there is no risk. If it is not for you simply ask for a full refund.

I agree to get to 13 points first is the winning post, however to get to that point in the most enjoyable, ethical and fair way whilst improving your game along the way, that is a different matter.

The book has been sent to the owner of Petanque.org for review and I would love to hear any other comments about its content. I am here to learn as I am equally here to try to teach what I know.

The ebook now has the three MP3 self hypnosis recordings finished and included with the book.

These recordings have been made specifically to help players of all abilities to massively improve their game.

They have been professionally recorded by a qualified hypnotherapist who specialises in sports psycology and has embraced Petanque. We have written the hypnosis program together and the result is amazing.

Dont forget there is a 90 day money back guarantee on this product so there is no excuse not to try it and watch your game improve!

I can think of an excuse !!!

Hypno therapy is not so easily turned off and could make one irrational by applying inappropriate solutions to real life situations.

Words in a hypnotic state can be misconstrued and could come to act as a hypnotic command at some later date.

The best thing is for hypnosis not to work on you.
Do not risk it.

The self hypnosis recordings are just a small part of my book. Some people take to them and use them to great effect, others dismiss them.

My book would not be complete if I had not given all the tools I have used to great effect in the past to achieve in this sport. I have a large selection of VERY satisfied customers who love what i have written and have seen their game raised to a greater level than before the purchase.

If hypnosis is not for you there are still many other secrets that can help you to raise your game. Remember this book is unique to Petanque and I would rather people try it and then critique the content instead of trying to others off.
