Petanque gamplay: Rolling in for a hit

The rolling-hit is generally considered a bit of a cheat, but as long as it works , do it. You aim at the opponents boule, and try to land a bit in front of it to make your boule roll into it and knock it away.

The shot suffers from the same weaknesses at the other rolling-shots, if the ground is uneven there is a high risk that the boule will loose it's original path and and up somewhere completely else. There is also the risk of hittig a small rock or a bit of soft ground and your shot is spoiled. If the ground is uneven the carreau is THE way of doing this.
