We need more contributions

By Mr.Bordsenius at 2003-01-19

As you might have noticed, the updates have been slow at best here lately. Many does not realize it, but petanque.org is completey driven by it's users. All content , stories, postcards etc. have been contributed by you, the readers. And now wee need more.

In the beginning , way back in 1997 , we had no content , a domain -name and the desire to help the petanque-world. The goal was to build a world - wide resource for petanque-players, with as much information about the game as we possibly could.

Thaks to all of you that have contributed over the years we now have a rather large content-base, an insane number of postcards, books, pictures etc. And an active forum-section as well. Some parts have even been translated into French ,and we have a russian partner as well.

But there is a lot of things we do not have. The news-section proved too hard to keep updated. At one time we had more than 10 editors from Canada to Mauritius. But it has "gone to the dogs" lately. Most of them have either disappeared, or made their own websites for their country or county, and drpped out of contact.

This is understandable, and we do not blame them in any way. But please - if you run a petanque-related website and post some new info there, please send it to us as well. We will make it available to a much bigger audience, and direct as much traffic and visitors to your website as possible.

Last year brought a rather big change: we can now give all countries their own sub-domain at petanque.org. Russia is already there, with their webite russian.petanque.org. The site is somewhere in russia, and they control everything , all we did was provide the name. If your club need a domain name, such as german.petanque.org , contact us and we will set it up. We do not charge anything for this.

We do this to reach one goal - more information about the game all over the world. With as much relevant and updated information as possible.

If you by any chance has used our "build a court" section to actually build a court, have a tournament planned , or just about anything else that could be considered "petanque-ish", please contact us right away. The e-mail address is administration @ petanque.org , and we are always waiting for your mail.
