The Swedish team has won the 24th International North Sea Petanque Tournament (INSPT), which was organized in Breda in The Netherlands from 26 until 28 June. The Swedish players won 44 games, just one more than the Belgian team (43).

Germany finished at the third place, with the same number of victories as the Dutch team (37), but the German players were the best in the two matches between these two countries (2-3 and 4-1). Denmark was fifth (22), Great Britain sixth (21) and Norway seventh (6).
The INSPT in Breda was one of the most beautiful and best organized North Sea Tournaments since the foundation in 1980. Eighty members of the local club Va-Tout volunteered during three hot and magnificent days. Next year, the INSPT will be organized in Lindome (Sweden, near Göteborg). Germany will not participate in 2004.
