For the fifth year consective, a QuÈbec / Canadian team has won Le Coupe des AmÈriques. On November 27 and 28, the South Flordia Petanque Club in Lake Worth, FL, USA; hosted the 5th Annual international competition. The team of Thomas Pouplot, Jacob Nour, Maurice Atlor won at 13-9.

. In 1994, the USA Petanque and Canadian Federation of Petanque met in Drummondville, Quebec to begin Le Coupe des Ameriques.
. This international competition which shares over $1000 with the top three position of men and women teams, meets every fall in alternative countires. The South Flordia Petanque Club welcome players from North Americia in three game types, Social Men's Open and Women's Open on November 27 and 28th.
. The two Canadian /QuÈbec teams each met the other in the semi-final to present an exhibition of international play. The team of Thomas Pouplot, Jacob Nour and Maurice Atlor won over the team of Michel Bensaser, Christian Daroman and Stephane Flament at 13-9.
. This competition which is in alternative countries every year, will be in Montreal at the Palais du Petanque in year 2000.

For some reason the worl championship in petanque is held in the buzzling metroloplis of Tahiti this year! So pack your swimwear and go there at once!
Finally petanque has found a new home, as a bar game! Althought it might take a few years befor the darts-boards get the boot and petanque moves in everywhere it has started to happen
