The fact was , unfortunately, that it was just a couple of Frenchmen that had had it with summer, swimming, snorkling and tzatziki. All they wanted was a bit of petaqnue-action, but sadly their boules were back in good old France.
But a true petanque-player is not hampered by such a minor detail, and when you are right next-door to a Minoan palace the idea arrived - lets play it like the ancients, with stones.

Finally petanque has found a new home, as a bar game! Althought it might take a few years befor the darts-boards get the boot and petanque moves in everywhere it has started to happen
